Create your virtual house

January 22, 2009

I just got this software a few days ago and have been playing with it ever since. Even put my 6 year old sun to create our new kitchen. It was kind of centered around the big screen tv on the kitchen wall but…

Great fun to create your own virtual home. And it’s extremely fast too. You can check out the video how a guy creates his house in 3 minutes.

Create your virtual house

Info from product page:

MyVirtualHome allows users to design and walk through a 3D visualisation of their perfect home on their computer and then paint and decorate it using thousands of products.

MyVirtualHome is focused on ease of use, via using games based technology rather than the traditional complicated CAD software approach. This results in stunning texture replication (realism) and dimensional accuracy. MVH calculates colour and lighting accuracy of both internal and external light sources.

Affiliate Marketing

March 20, 2008

A while back we launched a new service, but I haven’t had a chance to write a lot about it. The website is for affiliate marketers that can’t or don’t want to set up their own links.

With klikdeal affiliate marketing links you can set up links and name them exactly what you want (this gives a much higher click-through in emails for example) and besides naming the link you can also track how many readers click on your link.

At the best part, it’s all free. Please read more about klikdeal affiliate marketing links

Cheers,

Peter

Software You Need

July 11, 2007

Hiya!

A short note on software that should be on everybody’s PC (or Mac for that matter).

  • Antivirus, if you are online ever you need to have antivirus protection. If you’re not online you need antivirus. Strongly recommend Bit-Defender
  • Firewall, yes you gotta have that too. Somehow a virus will come in and then you need your firewall to stop all unwanted sending of your information online. Again strongly recommend Bit-Defender Plus
  • Google Desktop Search, while trying to keep this general I have to pick this specific software out, because on my system it’s about 20 times faster than the included Microsoft search. Google DesktopSearch included in the Google pack.
  • Excel, Word and Outlook. Couldn’t live without em, but hesitant to upgrade to 2007…
  • Firefox! About a year since I threw explorer away. I have never looked back, it can’t get any better and wow how many great add-ons there are (will save those for another time)
  • Cute-FTP, are you working with websites in any way, then you will if you haven’t already be using some kind of FTP software. My choice definitely falls on Cute-FTP ftp software and I have tried about 6-7 solutions.

Oh, I had a whole bunch more to tell you about. Second part of this post coming shortly.

Cheers, Peter ;-)

SnagIt Video

May 19, 2007

Software Marketing Secrets has produced their first software video for a product we really love – SnagIt. Click here to check the SnagIt video out on Google Video!

The video is about 1 minute long and it covers the great advantage of Snagit, for example that you have more than 40 ways to capture your screen with Snagit. And how easy it is to use compared to regular screen capturing when you have to cut and paste and change size and so on so forth, puh…

SoftwareCasa will try to produce more videos of great products in the future. The software used to create this video is another really excellent software that we warmly recommend – Camtasia 4.0 screen recording software.

If you are working with creating videos for the web, that’s certainly something you should check out.

Until next time ;-)

Beware Of Software Comparison Sites

April 11, 2007

Websites that offer software “reviews” or compare different software products are popping up. Examples would be toptenreviews and 6starreviews. (Linked removed as I don’t feel these companies are trustworthy)

The problem with these websites are that they actually live on the affiliate fees they get when they forward visitors of their websites to the software publishing the software.

So let me ask you a simple question. When rating the software what features of the software do you think they rate based on A) The quality of the software or B) How much they are paid by the company they are referring leads to?

You guessed it. Most established news sources make a clear distinction between editorial content and advertisement. But these sources do not, so don’t trust these websites.

If you are going to read software reviews, do it from trusted sources such as reviews.cnet.com or review.zdnet.com. I believe these to have higher editorial standards.

Good luck on your Software review hunt!
